Artisanally made olive wood Rosary, with devotional medallion of the Basilica Shrine of SANTA MARIA DELLA SALUTE on the Grand Canal.
“La Salute” was built as a votive offering in thanksgiving for the end of the Bubonic Plague in 1630 during which a third of the population of Venice died. The Basilica enshrines the icon of the “MESOPANDITISSA”: an ancient and very revered image of Our Lady, devotionally referred to as “Our Lady of Good Health”.
Hand polished olive wood beads, raw wood, entirely made in Venice, Italy, with gorgeous metal cross and center medallion.
Hand wash with delicate soap only. Dry immediately. May be retuned to original luster by rubbing with olive oil and a soft cloth. Will be shipped in a black velvet pouch.
